Relocated to Myrtle Beach, SC

Hello all! My name is Ray and I just relocated the family and myself to Myrtle Beach, SC. Today I was out scoping the local fish stores and met a guy named Steve. He was very helpful and a really cool guy. He advised me to hit up this forum. I have been a member of reef central for years.

I'm really gonna to get with you guys to get my tank back together. I just finished my first week of work here in Myrtle Beach, SC at my new job. It's gonna take some time to get back on my feet a bit.

I currently have a all glass 50 gallon tank. I have a drop in freedom filter (surface skimmer/protein skimmer/biological/mechanical) a fluval 404 in the stand and 260 watts of power compact lighting. I have about 140lbs of live rock in the tank. The only current residents are two damsels and a Clarke. I only have about 5 blue leg hermits. I want to get this thing together again. I have kinda been moved alot within the last several years and everytime I'm forced to sell everything off before the move. Well, I'm staying here and took a different job.

I just wanna make new friends, get to know cool fish people, get my tank back together, and maybe even drink a beer here and there. :strooper:
 
good to see a new reefer to the area. hopefully we can meet up soon and talk shop. maybe someone will have a meeting soon and you can meet everyone and one time. what kind of work do you do? if you ever need anything feel free to ask as most everyone will always lend a helping hand. and a frag are 2.

Ray, Its definitly good to see a new face come into the bunch. Im just about to have a tank again, so I cant help much with the frags/croals and such, but any help or info you need, just let us know.

I hope we do get a club meeting together soon. Ive been wanting to go to the last few, but they just havent fallen on convenient weekends.

Oh and BTW, there is always a beer somehwere that needs to go down :D

Went to the beach tonight after work with my girls. There was a jellyfish washed up on the beach. Is there a normal time of year here when you have to be careful in the ocean?
 
i see jelly mostly in the summer. more so late aug. But has been awhile since i been to the beach. how is the settling in ray. nice to see new faces on this board., maybe we have new descusions on here by the way to the guys wo see this. when are we haveing a meeting. ray needss to see some of this stuff you will fill his tank with.
 
where is the beer tell me and ill be there ha ha ha. good to hear that you are settling in ray. how is the tank comeing along thus far any pics we might be able to look at
