Remora on Aquapod 24 set up

Dont know if this is the best way, but heres what im doing
Well, I took the top off and added a 150 Sunpod. You have to pry the hinges off the back after removal so the Remora sits flush.
I use no filter media sept some filter floss about a inch under surface skimmer and some ChemiPure in a HOB filter.
I dont think theres a way to use the Remora without taking the top off

how long have you had the skimmer going? for about the first week it wont pull out much skimmate probably. Its gotta break in first.

looks like you're getting more skimmate than me.
if its okay with you can you give me more details to your set up?
i'm also running the sunpod.
my skimmer has been going for longer than 2 weeks now so its broken in and all that stuff. i found out that using yo ur set up, you get too much recycled water going back into the skimmer, but it seems like you have good skimmate in your collection cup.
1. can you show me where your maxijet/intake pump is set?
2. how much bioload do you have?
3. what do you feed/dose your tank and how often?

The intake of the pump to the remora is pointed to the left, I really dont get much waste going threw the skimmer it collects in the filter floss now im using a filter type pad.
I feed once a day a mixture of frozen and some bio plankten hand feed corals threw a baster
Here is my bioload (pic) including two clowns. two snail and 4 crabs and one pep shrimp.
I does twice a week with Seachem Reef Complete and Reef Plus
I will take another pic of my filtration tonight

also, look how low he's got the cup in the skimmer. He's got it pretty much all the way down (if its not at the bottom as it is) That will make a much more wet skimmate which fills up MUCH faster. If you've got the cup up really high, you're not gonna get any water in there so it will just be crud...which will take a lot longer to fill up.
And also, if your tank is super duper clean as it is, there may not be too much for it to pick up.

its highly debated, but imo the wet will take out more stuff faster...the dry doesnt get it as fast so its still there for a while imo...idk..kinda hard to explain.

Ok here are some pics
The skim you see in the pic is 24 hr period cup was up about a inch I will leave it all the way down and get another pic tomorrow. I believe the higher you have it the greener the skim gets but im still experimenting also.
I use ChemiPure in the HOB and I also do a 3 gallon water change weekly
The white filter pad you see in the pic go’s all the way down vertical pics up most of the incoming waste before it hits skimmer

the higher you have the cup, the more poo-looking it gets lol. Thats the best i can describe it.

that was how my skimmer was set up. your skimmate looks like mine pretty much. here is my new skimmer set up:
its set up so the skimmer will receive RAW water and nothing recycled from the skimmer. the tubing is 1/2 inch tubing and is long, so i'm going to see if this affects the skimmer performance in any way.

That looks good I may need to switch mine let me know how that works
I was thinking of using longer tubing for the skimmer also but didn’t know if using a longer piece than what they provided would effect the skimmer.
How did you get the tubing threw the center wall? Haven’t looked at it that closely
Would have been better if the put the intake for the skimmer on the right..well for the AP's anyways
Are you using the Remora Nano Skimmer? The Maxi-Jet 900 is recommended with it. Does a larger pump work better?

Also had a question about the chaeomorpha how much do you have in there and also how do you light it? Does it flow around like crazy. Im thinking about doing this also but maybe in my HOB

Did u cut some of the center divider out or is the tubing going over the divider? I can’t really tell by the pic. I tried it but my tubing kept kinking I need some thicker tubing. Also I see you have your clam up high do the like it better up higher? Your running a 150watt sunpod also rite? My clam has a little bit of bleaching trying to figure out what the prob is he’s on the bottom at the moment
