Remote Locating ATO reservior - Larger Osmolator Pump?

Hi All,

I am in the process of doing the build of our new 520g display tank. This is an upgrade for a 220 we had. I have a Tunze Osmolator I have had for about 6 years now and love it. I am in the process of laying out where everything is going to go and it would work out well if I could remote locate my top off container.

Is it possible to hook up a larger pump to the Osmolator? I am looking at a 5-6 foot vertical lift and about 20-25 feet of horizontal run. I would also then like to have it run through a kalk reactor.

Is this possible to do? Has anyone done it with success?

The osmolator as delivered can handle a pump of 12V DC and 1200mA. Outside of that you can use the accessory 3150.110 to connect a pump of 115V and up to 900W. This is a switched socket that would activate a larger pump of your choice.

Is there any pumps most people are generally using when the stock pump is not enough? I am planning on using a kalk reactor as well (Geo Custom XL version).

On really large or high head set ups people tend to use an Iwaki or Blueline pump with the switched socket, the Silence pump line is also popular if you just need a bit more flow.
