Removable glue for 3D PETG and Glass?

Hi,

Starting a Pico tank soon. I have 3D PETG print that I want to attach to the bottom of the aquarium glass. Still be able to easily remove should I not want to use it.

If I print a hollow base that covers the entire bottom of the tank and water fills it, will it still float?

Would hot glue gun work? How difficult to remove later from the glass bottom.

I will be adding coral frags so don't want it to come apart and 3d print floats to the top.

I don't plan on using any sand or rocks.

so, you’re basically wanting to make a 3D reef structure? If so, silicone sealant would secure it to the bottom as long as you have a way for air to get out of the structure to keep it less buoyant. As long as you don’t don’t silicone it to the silicone on the seams of the tank, it should be relatively easy to remove.

Yes, was thinking 3d print aquascape to hold a few coral frags. Probably will stick to
rock.

Probably a good idea. With the 3d print, you won't get the benefits of rock with all the space available for nitrifying bacteria.

Silicone would be my suggestion. Just allow ample amount of time for it to cure. Fairly simple to remove with brand new razor blades off the glass. Not too sure about securing it to rock work though.

Thanks all for your kind replies. I was just brain storming, 3d print cheaper and light weight. I read corals will grow on them as well.
It just does not look natural color wise, was planning to print in Black. I was also think what if adding cray glue all over the 3D print then
sprinkling with dry rock. I am sure someone will eventually do this and make a ton of money. lol.

I could also add magnets inside the 3d print and then use magnets on the outer bottom of the tank.
