Removal of Majano

Anyone have any luck removing majano's from their tank. I have tried joe's juice but didn't have much luck. Thanks sean

Hi,

What I have done on a couple of them is to take a coffee cup and fill with RO water & bring the water to a boil in the microwave. Suck up the very hot water quickly and put it into a small suringe and blast the majano. Do this two or three times in a row and it should wither & die. You can get a small irrigation suringe at your local drug store.

I have had success with a Raccoon Butterfly totally wiped out my infestation HTH

I have had good luck using kalk/ pickling lime mixed with RO water to make a paste. use a syringe to drop a glob on it and it will close up like it is eating it and disappear in a minute or so

When smmscott and I had our Racoon Butterfly we did have sps and clams....no problems with them, but once the majanos were gone it did pick at the zoas, so we built a little lightgrate box for the zoas. We had tried Joe's, pep shrimp, boiling water, manual removal, but the butterfly worked the best.

Just make sure you get one that will also eat flake.

Had a clam with no problems and NO sps, can't keep sps. and like they all say each fish is an individual some good some bad and you can only go by generalizations, not all are problems and not all reef safe are model citizens. HTH
