removing dead heads on a torch coral

I have a rather large Torch coral, it had 16 heads, unfortunately when we transported it to its new home, somehow 4 heads died. My question is how should I remove those heads, as to allow this beautiful coral to continue to grow and expand. Should I use a dremel tool, and cut at the base of the head or on the neck leading to the head?

I would cut the base of the stalk, basically as low as possible without affecting live heads.

Dremel or just snap it-if its a branching torch.
