removing foam from under tank

im getting very scared about having foam under my tank.i want to remove it but need some guidance from you guys.i know i need to drain as much water as possible.the problem i have is that my tank has corner overflows that drain out thruogh the bottom.the pvc plumbing plumbing runs through 4 holes in my stand.do i just lift the mostly empty tank on 1 side, take out as much foam as i can, then lift the other side.or do you think that i can slide a piece of plywood over the foam and leave it like that?

What is scaring you about it? I would be much more afraid of tipping a wet and plumbed tank than I would be of some foam under it...

why is there foam under there/ is it because its glass with no plastic frame under it? is the glasss flat against the foam/ or is it acrylic?

oh by the way i read about building tank stands before i found RC and it had foam on top of the stand.it looked good at the time

there is a plastic frame.and i keep seeing posts about tanks cracking

ah- ok then i understand, yep if there is a frame there is no need for foam, however its under there and you have had it running for 6 months with no problems so, perhaps you may just have to leave it, if your really worried then im afraid you will have to empty it to move it

This sounds like an easy enough job. Probably 3 people could handle this super easy. Two pick up the relatively empty tank... and the other pulls out the foam in 3 seconds and the tank is back on the stand. No harm done.

I'd be stupid enough to try it myself, but you're right. 3 people doing it, and it would be very simple.
