Removing Kaboom cleaning agent from tank

Bought a used 120g set up. Got it all loaded in the truck and ready to take home when the seller mentions, "Hey you might want rinse it out a few times, I used kaboom to clean it."

My plan was to fill it up and let it soak with a vinegar mix for a few hours then do 2-3 rinses with clean water. Will this be enough or should I use anything else?

Thanks in advance.

once you have the tank setup, and are doing a water test, use vinegar again and throw some carbon into the mix, (filter sock, reactor..etc.. depending on your setup) Let it run like that for a few days.

Are you able to leave it somewhere exposed to the sun as well? Looking up the cleaner the thing I'd worry about would be what they used to scent it. The other ingredients didn't look too bad.

that is a oxy base cleaning agent correct... If so its peroxide base.. just a good cleaning with Vinegar will be fine..

If it were mine I wouldn't be satisfied until I'd run PolyFilter as well as carbon and seen it stay white.

I was looking at the MSDS of kaboom, there are many different kaboom products ingredients varied. I do think a good rinse of the tank would be sufficient.

Awesome thanks guys. Ill spray it all down with vinegar, let it soak and rinse 2-3 times. Then set up running with clean water for a few days then drain and refill. I appreciate the responses and the research y'all did for me.
