Was just wondering what anyone out there as done to remove kenya tress from there system? I have one that just decided to drop a bunch of branches I was able to contain about 10 of them before they got somewhere they could attach and start growin but I missed one. It is down in a place that dose not make it easy to manually remove. When I try to grab it I only get about half that brakes off. Was thinking about using aspirta X on it but not sure what that would do. Any suggestions?

Is there a reason for this? I just started up myself about 3 weeks ago, and someone offered me some Kenya trees to go with as a beginner. Are these a problem to have? It sounds like you want to completely remove them from your tank. WHY? thanks too

Kenya trees can become a big problem if left to get out of control. I had one that was nice and did not drop for over a year. Then it started to drop and would not stop. The little ones would float around all over the tank. I would try and pull them but if I did not see them they would root to a rock within a day or too. When upgrading tanks I decided to not have anymore kenya trees. As for the OP I would just cute them as close to the base as you can or brake the rock at the base of the kenya tree. If you leave even a little bit of skin they will regrow. Good luck.
A quote from a local reefer. "Friends dont give friends kenya trees"

The would assume the reason he wants to get ride of them is because if left unchecked they will take over the tank just like xenia. They are a very good beginner coral because they are cheap and hardy.

I got both Xenia and Kenias but im a suporter of these corals and think there nice.Like Abugjo said there hard to take out and when i frag em i just cut them off and they respawn at same place.Maby your able to kill it whit a needle and calsium or so i dont know but the easy way might be to remove the rock and dry it or keep it dark or just turn the rock uppside down.

I had a Kenya Tree and about a 5 inch Xenia rock that I put in my 55 at the same time. The Kenya Trees took over and all but eliminated the Xenia. I went through and pulled almost every one of the Kenya trees out and threw them away. The Xenia has came back nicely very quickly. However, so are the Kenya Trees :headwallblue:

I think the only way to get rid of them permanently is to exchange your rock for new rock. I love leathers, but Kenya's are a pain.
