Removing nems from rock

Hello folks,

I've had a few rock anemones doing pretty well until my tank went through some rough months. As part of the process the nems are looking pretty bad. I've tried everything, I am target feeding them and all but they do not seem to recover and I am at a point that I am considering just removing them from the rocks and start over. It hurts.

How can I do this?

There are a few methods. Blast them with a powerhead, hold an ice cube on the foot if you can get to it, hang the rock out of the water until they release. the powerhead was the only one that i was actually able to get to work.

by the way, if they are still solidly attached there is hope. they will release on their own or move to find better living. parameters? what do you mean by looking bad?

If they are stuck on a relatively flat rock with their foot and you have access, a credit card or soft rubber spatula will help detach them fast. I’ve detached a few that way in my tank.
Powerhead seems to work well especially with the deep anchored ones.
