I have about $150 invested in ricordeas and would like to move them into a new system. The problem is, they are all mounted on a piece of LR. I'm not looking to move any rock from the current tank to the new. Any suggestions on removing them, besides having to cut the rock?
You can lift up the edges and slice the foot from the rock with a blade. You'll have to re-attach them though in the new tank to rubble / LR. And they'll be ****ed off for a few days too. This is how the seller i got my Rics from got them off his rock.
thanks, i used powerhead method, blow the sh*t out of it but it didn't move at all!, i used ice to its foot, lifted his food a bit. it just didn't want to move at all. It ended up with removing all rocks from tank to clip off those suckers!
Use a butterknife while they are still submerged and gently get underneath the foot and pop off, unless they are in a hole thats the way I have used to remove them in the past

Interesting! Will have to try that next time, probably less stressful than slicing through the foot. Do they let go with minimal effort or do you have to really yank at them?

Hard part is getting started once you get them peeled off a little the rest is easy. Initially you will have to dig into the rock just a little to get started..Done it hundreds of time ... Works great on majonas too they just tend to get into tough to reach places
It seems that whenever I dip Shrooms or anemones attached to a rock in Coral Rx Pro, it makes 'em mad and they detatch. I let them soak in tank water for 20 minutes or so to get the Coral Rx Pro out of them before placing them in the system.
