Removing trim and drilling an oceanic cube

It's all about the flow
I was wondering if anyone in this forum has any experience with drilling, and possibly taking the trim off the oceanic 30gal cube. I would drill the two holes I need on the back of the tank and then remove the top and possibly the bottom trim. I scored the tank for $20 so I'm not too attached to it if I brake it in the process, but it would be nice to know if it's been done already and pics or a link would be very helpful. Thanks.

I have never seen the trim removed but would imagine that to be a real pain in the rear considering it is a oceanic and they are built like a tank (like the ones that go boom). I have drilled one though, I put 4 1inch holes in about 10 minutes no problem.

i've seen a couple of them rimless, and it looked pretty nice. there's a couple of them here drilled also with sumps underneath.

but haven't seen both done on the same tank

Okay, thanks for the replys. I will drill the tank first and then decide if the trim comes off.

Old thread I know...

Did you ever remove the trim? I'd give removing just the top trim some real consideration of it is safe to do so!

I have removed alot of trim the trick is to use a hack saw and carfefully cut it at the corners. then you can just use your hand to pry it off be carefull doing this aswell.
