Removing Tyree Toadstool

Fish Freak
Hello all,

I have a mixed reef with LPS, SPS, a couple softies and a tyree toadstool. I would like to remove the toadstool and sell it. However it has gone from the frag plug to being attached to the rock in my reef which cannot be removed. Can i safely remove the coral from the rock without it polluting my tank (if it rips) and without hurting the toadstool? I here that softies can cause warfare in the tank and I am afraid if I rip it while trying to remove it that some serious problems can arise.

Any suggestions in removing it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Generally you can peel them off with little damage- or if you want another to regrow- just slice it off with a razorblade. You have a lot of water and it is one coral- I don`t see great chemical threat. If you wanted to be extra safe you could always add carbon or do a water change after- but I likelt wouldnt bother. There is always a chance to damage the coral- cutting or peeling- but with good water quality it will heal quickly.

Razor blade is the way to go, do it in 1 pass if you can avoid "sawing" at it. Tie it to a rock/plug depending on size. give it a couple week and it should attach to the rock
