Thanks to Richard for suggesting this to me. I mentioned a few nights ago I saw an ugly looking crab on my rocks after lights out, and he suggested the following method, that worked like a charm.
I took a drinking glass and leaned it against the rocks at a 45* angle, and put some pellet food in the bottom. Richard said a piece of shrimp, but I didn't have any, so I used pellet food. Left it in overnight and this morning he was inside the glass. The crabs can go off the rock into the glass to get the food, but can't walk back up the slick glass wall. He is going into my refugium.
