We had discussed this probably a half a year ago...
All DI systems have both advantages and disadvantages:
-No wastewater. Wastewater is created by the reverse osmosis system, not the DI part. This would be especially beneficial to people on public sewage.
-Faster fill. Without all the wastewater getting pushed out, you are able to get more pressure which in turn allows you to get the same clean water much faster
Drawback--Filter replacement. Without the RO unit bringing down you TDS before hitting the DI, the DI resin will need changing much more frequently and will need to be checked more often for consistency. DI resin is rechargable, though, and can be cleaned and reused.
I guess I'm wondering if anyone is using all DI system? Does anyone else see any other benefits/drawbacks to using all DI system instead of the natural RODI choice?
