I have a 90 gallon acrylic sump that has sprung a leak at the seam. How do I repair it and what should I use? I found articles on building but not repairing.
Since it is a seam, I would suggest getting a piece of acrylic angle and glueing it into the seam with weldon 40 leaving enough glue to create a small filet at the edge of the acrylic angle. Something like this is what I was talking about, but if possible, I would one a little thicker than this one.
I assume that the sump is currently in use? You may have to drain it and repair from the inside. Weldon 4 makes a stronger joint but you will need to add another piece of acrylic to "patch" the seam. Just my .02
