Replaced T5's...........Question ?

My ATI bulbs were about 9 months old and I replaced them all at once. Is raising the lights 5 inches enough to prevent shock or should I add a screen as well? And I really don't want to change the lighting period.

I replace my 6 ati bulbs every 12 months all at once. I raise mine about 12" above the water surface. I give it about a week and slowly go from 12" down based on how the corals react.

5 inches is as high a I can raise it, maybe I will put a few screens in place until I see how the corals react

I have a 6 bulb fixture and stagger a single bulb replacement every 2 months. It's more work, but keeps the lighting intensity pretty consistent.
