Replacing base unit

I have to send my base unit in for repair and am planning to purchase a second unit to use while mine is getting repaired and then store one as a backup. I have saved all config on my laptop. My question is how easy is it to install the new base unit. Is it plug and play then upload my config? I had someone install the unit for me as I am not very savvy when it comes to software programming, ect.

The saved configuration has 'address' information so the important part of replacing the base is to connect the aquabus devices in order so they are restored with the same addresses as the old unit. Then restore and I think you also need to reset the Apex; or is it that you just need to wait a few minutes for the restore to promote to the live configuation (it's been a while).
