Is it poosible to replace a pane of glass on an existing tank?(unfilled obviously)
I'd like to put a pane of PPG Starphire in place of standard front pane if at all possible.

Yes.

You have to very carefully cut out the seams, first by cutting away the outer seam with a razor blade, then by using a thin piece of metal wire (or something similar) to separate the panes. You need to be very careful not to scratch or chip the glass.

After that you need to thoroughly remove all the remaining silicone using lots of acetone and even more elbow grease and/or something like a dremel tool with a soft buffing attachment. It will take a while.

After all of the silicone is gone you can glue the new panel in.

Maybe someone else will have some other tips...
