Research Material???

I have just set up my first reef tank and it has just cycled. I am getting ready to start adding a bio load, I plan on having LPS and Softies.

I am looking for research material. I am looking for anything that I can find to make an informed decision on what coral to add to tank and the requirements of keeping it alive.

I would appreciate any help that I can get.

Thanks

If this tank is the 55g and your T5 fixture has individual reflectors, you can put just about anything in there. If the light only has one reflector, you may want to place the sps very high or shy away from the most light demanding sps. However, you posted on the lps forum and I can't think of an lps that would not work in that tank with proper placement.

jadeguppy,

The T-5 has individual reflectors. I am going with LPS and Softies to start. I am wanting to find any literature that I can to help with maintaining the best environment to allow for healthy grow of the coral.

Thanks

I've always like "The Reef Aquarium" vol.1 (Hard Corals/Clams) vol.2 (Soft Corals) vol.3 (The art and science) Great info tons of high quality pics and some hardcore scientific stuff.

Good luck!

ohyeah and Reef Central of course ;~)

"Aquarium Corals" by Eric Bourneman is a great reference, too. Lots of info on basic coral biology, husbandry, water, and individual coral profiles, too.

Books & a site like this to bounce them off of.

Ill second the Borneman book- its an excellent introductory guide. The Modern Coral Reef Aquarium series (the 3 white books in the photo above) are also excellent resources, though I would start with Borneman.
