How long should I reseed live rock before selling/giving away?

well it's rock that was in the tank but I had to remove, so it's sat out for a while, but I was wanting to give away so I wanted to know how long it needed to sit to be beneficial to someone else.
Wow 4-5 months, I didnt think it would take that long...

why bother re-seeding it? Let the buyer / recipient bear the "burden"
As far as being "beneficial" goes - I think the dry or dead rock can be added when a new tank is being setup - The new system will have to cycle anyway - If user adds a couple pieces of LR and some good LS they should be fine by the time cycle is done.
It can also be added slowly to an existing tank without complication.

Well it's not really a burden...I have the room, I just thought if I have some extra rock to give away it might as well be "good" rock
