Resources for breeding clownfish

Hey,

I'm about to acquire an 18 tank breeding system (originally designed for discus). Anyway, I already have bangaii cardinals breeding and I'm really enjoying it, so I'm wondering if anyone knows of some really in depth texts or resources describing the entire process, including what kinds of live foods are required and how to raise those larval foods...
Basically I'm looking for a really detailed aquaculture guide for clownfish. I have a B.Sc. in marine biology so it can be quite technical in nature and I should understand...I hope someone out there can point me in the right direction.

Two separate books: Hoff (more technical, http://www.amazon.com/Conditioning-...=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1196822941&sr=8-1) and Wilkerson (much less technical, http://www.amazon.com/Clownfishes-J...=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1196822985&sr=1-1). Both are great.

Also, check out Wittenrich's book (http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Illu...=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1196823035&sr=8-2).

For clowns, you just need rotifers and enriched Artemia to start. Both books'll teach you how to do that, but you can also do a search here or on the web for that info.

Good luck!

excellent...thanks a lot umm, fish...hey Boulder,CO eh? i have relatives in Ft. Collins...I was in boulder the day after the big flood in Ft.Collins in like 1997...sorry just reminded me of that

Wow. I don't really remember the flood up in Ft. Fun, but the weather patterns along the front range get so weird and it's a couple hours away. I hope your relatives were ok.

You might also consider my book "Aquarium Fish Breeding". While it would seem to be a basic text, it actually has a lot of my more advanced material in it. It covers rotifer culture, FW & SW fish, invertebrates and even plant propagation. It also discusses broad topics of nutrition, genetic and breeding triggers. More importantly for you, it has a chapter on "building a fish room".

Can I ask where you found your breeding system? Are they available for sale somewhere or do you have to make them?

Kimsie,

It was designed by a discus breeder...i got it second hand so i dont know what his name was. I got it from a guy named mike if that helps ;)
