The mushrooms are white, I currently have 1 rock that continously reproduces.....white mushrooms...Directly under 250watt 20000k halides. but I assure you it is not because of the lighting or nutrients in the tank.. My family and I have been doing this for over twenty years, and we own a propagation facility in the keys...So thanks for your input, but I assure you it's not the quality of the tank. There is also plenty of Manganese in my systems... So bleaching should not be a problem..Nor has it ever been a problem with any of my corals..i am stumped, I just got Julian Sprung's email from Dr. Lewbart at NCSU school of Vet medicine aquatics department were I attend, so I will send them there..Thanks again for everyones advice ..Some pics of 1 tank and clam and shroom..

I saw in another thread your family owns Sea Life, Inc? I assume that's the same company as sealife florida?

Not my immediate family.....Ours in in Upper Mattacumba key...But they are very close friends of the family...so yea my family

Oh, that's cool. I had a great experience with Sealife Florida. I plan to check out your other "friends of the family" Pacific East Aquaculture in person some time soon, since it is only an hour or 2 away.

They are excellent..... By far the nicest display that is open to the public....jw My family now mainly does live rock and rarities of corals only..My father is old and kind of retired if ya no what i mean....I plan to take over when I finish vet school in a year....But anyway back to Pacific East Aquaculture, The're awsome...jw

you sure that the coral isnt getting too much light?

cause if it really is a white shroom. i want one lol

I agree completely! I bought this mushroom from a local fish store that had it in there system for a few months, in the shade. I posted a picture up on this forum and EVERYONE said they were bleached but where ever I move them they are a whitish/baby bluish color. Heres a picture of mine.

Could they not be (like in any other animal species) that rarity - an albino? Obviously you can't look for red eye as in bunny wabbits, but if they are reproducing/splitting and maintaining the white color.................

I agree, mine keep reproducing.,.. I now have 12 whites with the largest 3'' across and 1 that is a butter yellow......Well see wont we...Great looking shrooms man

Soon I will post new pictures of mine with the yellow.....thanks for the support bout time I heard something good...

No prob. After a BSc in Zoology, and two MSc (one in Fisheries), I can clearly state that I haven't seen everything, I have probably seen only a fraction of what is possible and anything is possible in nature.

Me too man..My shoulders have had salt creep on them since i was in diapers....I grew up with stuff....My whole family does it for a living..I haven't seen a fraction....That's why I love it so much...It;s better than vet medice, because you are always learning something knew...It never get boring..And it art

i think there are people out there that will tell you as soon as they see white in a coral or anenome that its bleached almost as a reflex. There are other photosynthetic white corals so why not shrooms? YES some things grow white....

Why are your first three photos crisp and clear and then your last one of the "white" mushroom is all blurry?

It was taken with my phone.....I broke my digital cam..The only reccent pic I have is of them at night on a rock with 1 red shroom and 4 whites ..
