I saw it but in my opinion the Berndt for the same money was way cooler. I don't think this one will go as quickly.
I agree, the berndt was a cool eel

wow how P Oed can ya get when you just dont know how to do something so simple ? well i will tell you BP 150 over 95 lol . i really am trying hard and trying to keep rational when im doing this but man o man what a (^%(*^&(*&^ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I just spent the last hour and a half trying to move a full grown M. pavonina from a tank with rock specifically set up to give morays the most possible hiding places. At least we got through it with no bites. By the end I was wondering if he'd hold on long enough if he bit me to get him out of the tank...

I'll be wrestling with my M pavonina this weekend, as I need to rehome it. Turns out it has a taste for dogface puffers. :)

That is going to be a challenge. In the past I have always just moved my eels by emptying out all of the rocks and most of the water so you can just scoop them out in a container, but I think your bdm is too big for that plus you are keeping your other fish. Maybe there is a pufferfish lure you could buy at a fishing store or something....

I'm hoping to lure him up to the top of the tank (easy) and scoop him up in a landing net, then to a bucket with lid. wish me luck. :) I hate to have to get rid of this eel, I love it very much.

If I could start up a tank just for the eel, I'd do it, but can't right now.

What eventually worked for me was throwing in some mysis. That got him (her?) out searching for food and my friend and I were eventually able to net him out. If yours is anything like mine you should have a lot of chances to nab it. Mine was totally unafraid of the net and even came out again a few minutes after I tried grabbing him when he shoved his head in a net looking for food. I'd also recommend using a friend with maybe some glass dividers to help corral him once he gets out into the open.

sad times

sad times

i have to get rid of my 36 inch long snowflake and my 14 inch long blue spotted grouper that ive had for 4 years now lucky me that there is a shop nearby with a huge aggressive display tank. i am really sad to see my friends go. i guess its time to get a tattoo of them now. :( :( :( :(

Post a pic of your snowflake, I think I've only seen one that size in a store and it was pretty sweet looking.

IF you would like a Berndt's Eel I have an opportunity for you. I have one that has outgrown my tank and am trying to sell it. Let me know if you are interested in buying it.

Thanks
