I'm about to get my first drilled tank: 260g (72x28x30)
I want to split the return so that I can aim it in two separate directions.
What's the recommended way to configure my return line once it comes through the bulkhead in my internal overflow? (I'm using a Herbie, but I had an extra hole drilled in the overflow so I can still use one of the holes as a return.) Should I use loc-line or just normal hard pvc?
Other possible facts of interest:
My bulkheads will take 1.5 i.d. plumbing.
I have an Iwaki 100RLT pump for my return. It's in the basement with my sump while the DT is on the first floor. The pump is severely throttled back (bypass really) because my current siphon overflow can't handle the volume. I'd like to open it up with the new tank. I mention this in case flowrate makes a difference on the design of the return. (That's also in part why I posted in this forum.)
I had holes drilled in the euro-bracing at each corner for possible return line locations. I don't know if I'll use them now or do it as an upgrade later. Any thoughts?
