Return pump and closed loop pump recomendations

Hello I am new to saltwater and I am setting up a 240gal and 40 gal on a common sump. I was thinking about a reeflow hammerhead/barracuda pump for a return pump (would feed the 240 and the 40) I have 4 - 1 1/2" drains 2 drains and 2 emergency drains on the 240tank and a 2 - 1" drains on the 40 one for drain and one for emergency, return would be over the back of the tank on both. The 240 is also drilled for a closed loop. 4 - 1" holes in the bottom of the tank and a 1 1/2" in the back. I was thinking a second reeflow hammerhead/barracuda pump for the closed loop. Does this sound reasonable? Tell me what you think. The sump is 75gal.

I'm no genius when it comes to plumbing but... How what is the length of the return line? Are you wondering what the gph would be for the return? There is a head loss calculator on this site but I don't believe it has that pump on it. You can modify the calculator to include your pump. I've done it and can help if needed, but it might take me a while.

I have a refflo blowhole and like it so far. Good customer service. The hammerhead/barracuda has a lot of power. It might be too much for a closed loop system (again I might be wrong).

So I imagine you will Tee the return line somewhere for both tanks. Do you plan on putting a gate valve on the return line for the 40 gal? Other wise you might be running too much gph for a 40gal. It sounds like you'll be moving a lot of water.

Return line will be about 9-10' from pump to first return nozel, straight from pump with 2" (4')to a t 1 1/2 each way (3') to both ends of tank (up 2') to feed a continous loop 1 1/2" halo. Was think about 8 - 3/4" outlets around the top of tank. It will also have a T before the split feeding the 40 with a gate valve to control flow to that tank. I am not set on this just want to get a big enough pump the first time not sure if this is too much tho. Continous loop has a 1 1/2" feed hole and 4 - 1" returns.
