Return Pump Help

After running my tank for 5 days it looks like I have a return pump that is way too powerful. I have it cut back almost 1/2 way and it still flushes a bit and pumps a lot of bubbles into the tank. It is a GENX Mak4 rated at 1190 gph. I thought with dual overflows rated at 600gph it would be a good match. Live and learn.

It looks like the Eheim pumps get high ratings here but I need an external pump that has 3/4" mpt fittings so I don't have to redo all my piping again. I would like to be able to screw it right into place where this pump is.

Which brings me to my question. The Pan World 50PX looks like a good pump. Are there any other pumps you would recommend that would work for me?

The Mak4 is a very powerful pump. I use one as my basement return pushing 10' vertical to a 180G. Yes, the 50PX would be a good choice for your setup.

I just got a Posiedon pump, and I have to say it is the quietest external pump I have ever ran, wait, quiet pump period I have ever ran.

The Poseidon/Velocity pumps are quiet, but are water cooled. They will add more heat to the water than an air cooled pump such as the Gen-X or Pan World.
