Return Pump Ideas for Second Story Nano

Thinking of branching off a nano upstairs from a 105 in the basement. Up to 40g and wondering if a litermeter would do the trick. In tank heater and circ pump upstairs and just run a litermeter pulling off the 105's sump as a return pump, maybe 18 hours a day total run time?
