I have a use return pump that was painted and the paint is starting to chip off and I want to upgrade the pump. So what kind and size of pump would you use for a return pump in the bottom 29gal sump that goes about 4 foot up to the main tank with a 1" return line. This pump would not be the main source of currculation because I have 4 other powerheads in the main tank, but the more flow. I also have the plumming cut off to where if the pump was overfilling the main tank beyond what the 1" return line could handle I could open a valve and redirect a portion of the water back into my sump.
