Return to hobby, looking for a 30" fixture for sale or trade

Zen through Reefkeeping
Hey all, haven't been around in a while and haven't been to meetings since back in the early days, but I'm getting back into the hobby with a 20L setup... I still don't have a light fixture for this particular tank though. I have a 175w MH setup with ballast and 20K bulb that I'd be willing to trade even for the simplest of PC fixture, as long as I can do a 50/50 setup I'll be happy.

This will be a FOWLR tank, so I'm not looking to spend much, but if someone has something cheap for sale let me know. I'll also have some other equipment to trade if anyone wants that, such as an overflow and return pump, so if the MH doesn't do it for anyone, let me know what you're after and I might have it from an old 29g setup. The MH is just too much light for the little 20L....

Thanks!!

Got any pics of your 175w MH set up? I have a nice 30" T5 fixture (2 bulbs), that I've been using for about 3 months now, so it's in great shape.

Alex, I have a couple 4ft 2 bulb PC fixtures you could retrofit. The Montis you sold me with that rock a while ago are still doing good and if you ever want some of it, just let me know.

Thanks guys... I actually started rigging up a solution to use the existing 175w MH, I just need to be sure it's going to work. If it doesn't, I'll take pics of it; I picked it up from another member here about a year or two ago....

And khusson1, I'm glad they're doing well, I might just get in touch with you about it when things are running, thanks!

Ok, so you'll never guess what I did with the light....heh. I took a stand from another tank (the same exact one as the one the 20L is on already) and put the light at the very top, placing that stand on top of the tank. The perfect amount of light gets to the tank and it looks great... of course the overall setup looks funny being that there are matching stands above and below it, but the arrangement works for now and the tank is cycling...
