reusing the settled part of limewater

Do you reuse the settled part of lime water? Im just wondering if theres anything wrong with it. It only se ttles due to saturation of the solution right.




Also how many teaspoons does it take to saturate 1 gallon of water?

Here's a great article I found that explains all the chemistry involved -- it's geared towards mixing kalk with vinegar, but talks about what happens with just water as well.

When I mix mine, I usually, do a few gallons mixed with fresh lime and then dump in a few gallons of straight RO/DI. As long as you let the bad stuff settle back down, you shouldn't have any problems. So far, it's been working for me. My tank parameters have stayed steady at my current drip rate.
