Ok I started a 200g tank thread the other day and I am going to try and have it deleted because I officially made the order for my new tank and I decided to go a bit bigger due to some of the comments made.

So my tank will be ready in 3 to 4 weeks and I am totally stoked!!

Here are the plans:

72" long by 32" wide by 24" tall
36" external overflow with 1 1/2 drains and 1" returns
Starfire front and sides
Eurobraced with glass
Black Silicone
40" tall stand and canopy

I have dreamed about this one for a while now and it is becoming a reality! I know it's going to be a few weeks, but join me on this ride and help me figure out some things as we go.

I will keep tons of pictures as we go along.

The tank and furniture is being built by www.oceallc.com.

Who's with me? :D

Hope you have great success with your build, and I will be following along. I just placed an order with Ocea last week and can't wait to see the finished product. Heard good things concerning their build quality and the price along with shipping was impressive.

Pm me and I will be glad to share the price.

HAHA yea bigger is better right? LOL!

Ok what do you all think of this tank on a hard wood floor on the bottom floor of the house? There is a crawl space under it. Just asking because of the heaviness of the tank.

I'm in. I want a tank JUST LIKE YOURS!!!!! Mine will be in wall instead. and thoughts on skimmer. I am thinking an orca 250 pro package for mine

I am thinking of going with an ORCA 250 myself to be honest. If so I will have a Deltec 600 for sale that is a bit to small for the new tank I think.

Heath, Yes I have decided to reinforce the floor before the tank gets here. :)

Ok good deal and wise choice on reinforcing the floor. That is why I am glad my house is set directly on a concrete slab.

Ok now lets talk about some eqipment..

Pump? What would you suggest for the return?

Skimmer? I am thinking of an ORCA 250

Water Flow? I have 2 Tunze 6100 do you think this will be enough?

Lighting I am going with 3 LUM Reflectors with (3) 250w Radium SE.

Calcium I have a GEO 618 that should be enough to handle the tank.

So what are your thoughts?

There is not much better in pumps as Sequence.
For the skimmer it is a great choice and you going to love it.
If you like the looks of power heads in the tank that should do it for now, once the tank is mature full of caorals you can add more.
Perfect reflectors, but I would add some T5s for dusk and down. Also did you consider DE bulbs? Better par on those.
The CR should be fine for a long time on your system if not for ever.

Congrats Rev on the new tank...and as Tomasz mentioned, the Sequence pumps are pretty hard to beat as far as efficiency and cost. Good luck with the build..hope everything goes smoothly.

Pump? What would you suggest for the return?

- I have try the ATB flowstar 3200 it is very energy efficient, quiet and not much heat transfer. The pump can use for internal or external

Skimmer? I am thinking of an ORCA 250

- Again, ATB Medium with Airstar pump also pretty good or H&S A-250

Water Flow? I have 2 Tunze 6100 do you think this will be enough?

- You can't go wrong with 2 tunze 6205 5800ish gph one at each rear corner will take care of all the flow at 55w each...

Lighting I am going with 3 LUM Reflectors with (3) 250w Radium SE.

- Good combo but which ballast are you planning to use? I heard 250w work well with HQI ballast

Calcium I have a GEO 618 that should be enough to handle the tank.

So what are your thoughts?
