rhinos in your reef!!!

Awesome fish and so happy to see he is eating frozen. Just as a suggestion, I would avoid feeding silversides to the Rhino and all of your other fish as they are nutritionally equivalent to a human eating bigmacs all the time. Best of luck with your fish T

yea I was planning to load the silverside up with nls and hopefully that will help. You have any other ideas to feed these fish.

I believe the easiest way is to gutload shrimp and fish with nls, this was mentioned in another thread on these fish. If marine shrimp are not available for you to harvest you can try ghost shrimp; they are usually less than .25 each and most lfs will stock them.

rdoung- citypets frequently carries SW ghost shrimp, you can gutload them w/ marine algaes

Such a cool lil' fish, wish I could keep him!

It seems like he is choking. Is he really? I remember last time when he ate, he took in some aragonite but manAge to spit some back out. I think ghost shrimp is too small for him but will give it a try. I think stuffing the seafood with nls would be the best.

Gorgeous fish. Are they the only two fish in the tank? Really love you're little angler. I have a soft spot for these guys :)

thanks

in the tank are a purple tang, powder blue tang, sixline wrasse, mandarin goby, and a red leaf fish. in the sump, there are a tesselata eel, baby guinea fowl puffer and my warti

I think he is smart enough not to eat the mandarin with its slime coat. So far so good. Makes me think about putting the angler back in.

These are very cool fish. Have some questions for folks that have been keeping these.

1. Dumb question, what is nls?
2. Since these are ambush type of predetors, how do you train or trigger it to take non-live food?
3. How long do these survive in captivity?

Thanks.

2. wiggle the frozen silverside in front of their face with a feeding stick and let the food float in front of them then GULP!!!
3. so far 5-6 years i believe.

Looks very happy! You must be feeding a lot for him to not eat that angel.

What and how often have you been feeding?
