Rhomboid thread

Had 2 rhomboids for a year and a half the way I acclimated was at night drip acclimation for about an hour.

Anyone treat these deep water fish prone to swim bladder issues with erythromycin as a precaution?

I have one. Have had it for almost a year. Bought as a pair, but he female took a ride down the overflow and got caught in a filter sock. She didn't survive unfortunately. The male has been great. No problems with him whatsoever.

You guys will never believe this but those who have seen my tank know the inhabitants are
Hawaiin flame wrasse super male
Rhomboid mating pair never seen any sign of babies but they do a mating dance
Lineatus wrasse pair
Mystery wrasse
Leopard wrasse
Snowflake clowns mating pair

I had a nice Rhomboid and when I shut down my tank temporarily, it stayed at my buddies brothers house who said it jumped out of the tank like a week before I was ready to get it back. FWIW, I had him for probably a year without issues.

Ive ordered about six from the LFS and they never make it to the store alive, atleast thats what they keep telling me.

They are a very delicate species I have to have a mesh screen top on my rimless because its just not worth the risk of losing a rhomboid or Lineatus. I think the trick is to not stress them out during acclimation make sure the salt is identical to yours and put them in at night that way they go directly to sleep.
