I want to get a rhomboid wrasse and I wanted to know if anyone has one and what are their temperaments
I have a 90 gallon mixed reef tank
I have 2 possum wrasse 1 leopard wrasse 2 clowns 2 mandarins 1 swales basslet 1 fathead 1 rainford

When I had mine the only fish that picked on him was my leopard wrasse. Not enough to bother though. It was a Great fish and was very docile.

So I think that you would be ok

I agree with the above. Mine have a very mild personality. they will scrap a bit with each other, but don't seem to bother others.

I think that they are an awesome fish. If you have ever had any of the fish in the family cirrhilabrus (fairy wrasses) then they are all they same. scotts velvet, hawaiian flame, balteatus, etc. Just remember that u can only have 1 male, but an infinite amount of females.

Sorry, but fairy wrasses are NOT all the same personality wise. C. scottorum is a terror to others, flame females can be very aggressive. Rhomboids are very docile. And by the way you cannot have "an infinite number" of females for a variety of reasons.

i agree with bro snorvich. scottorum, pylei, rosy scales are all super aggressive. i don't know about others but scottorum is a confirm bad boy. pylei and rosyscales have been very aggressive when i kept them too.

just to name a few..

Actually, I had forgotten (maybe repressed), you are right that C. roseafasciata is even more aggressive than C. scottorum

agree with steve the scottorum and roseafascia are aggressive i found that luteovittatus, filamentosus, and pylie to be right there as well

I have one peaceful (and large) C. rubriventralis and recently (apparently) purchased another one (it wasn't listed as C. rubriventralis, but looking at Michael's book, it is the only species that seems to match.) The new one is much smaller but it is a holy terror. It is picking on fish that I have never seen be picked on before, including mandarins! It is to the point where I think it is going to have to be housed with semi-aggressive fish only.
