Ricordea covered with something

Hi,

Anyone have experience with Ricordea covered with something?? What is that?

when mine have done that they always die in a few days. blow it off and see if it returns.

it looks like a yuma, and when yumas do that they always die, no one knows how to save them yet. sorry

Just an update... The slime seems to keep spreading. 2 days ago, it affect 2. Yesterday, it was another 2. Today, another 2. All are still alive as of now after I removed the slime.. But interesting is that those not affected is so healthy...so it can't be cause by the changes in water chemistry.... not sure why.

is it perhaps some kind of bacterial infection? What I do is take it out and shake it in some old tank water then return to system and pray

dip them in revive or something. maybe povidone

That happens sometimes from shipping damage, the ones that survive will be super healthy in no time though and will start growing like crazy after a few months

The main thing is to give them low light as they settle in, otherwise you kind of get the effect you're seeing now where they drop off one by one since they can't heal up the shipping damage when they're stressed.
