Ricordea in Rochester

So I have been oogling Ricordea (Yuma mostly) online the last week and I went to Caribbean Forest today and they had a very pretty rainbow one about the size of a quarter but it was all of $30. That seems a bit steep for me. Anyone have any for sale locally for better prices? Pics would be helpful.

30 bucks for a rainbow yuma is a pretty good deal from a retail store. I paid 40 at ABC reefs for mine, and thought that was a steal (they usually go for 80 retail, it was a gamble though because it wasn't colored up yet, just looked kinda pinky-purple and dank, but now it is clearly fluorescent pink, purple, and yellow, even with the daylights on). That said, hobbyist-to-hobbyist prices are substantially lower. What were the colors on the yuma?

Yup $30 is about how much you pay for a Yuma. Florida ricordeas are usually a lot cheaper $10-25

sadly for yumas in this area that is what we pay I saw the same one Wednesday and I almost bought it. I did snag a maxspect razor 27 inch fixture though.

Adam - it was showing orange, yellow, green, and a hint of pink in the frag tank at the store. Quite pretty. I'm having pretty good luck with getting frags from hobbyists so I'll just be patient and wait for one to come along a little cheaper.... maybe down the road when yours starts to propagate you'll keep me in mind :bigeyes:

Lol patti. Too funny. Sometimes I do look at stuff and go that's easy to frag would be sweet to split it with someone. Ricordeas aren't so easy to split though. and yes that one at the store was pretty.

You could try the salty dog frag swap tomorrow. Ill be bringing one tiny orange Yuma. Maybe others will have some for sale?
