Ricordea yuma

I would like to get some opinions on them, as I found 1 for sale at my area. I'm from Malaysia, and it seems these kinds aren't available often.

There's only one shop here that sells corals. So this particular Yuma goes for about 80bucks for 1 adult with 1 baby. But the colors were kinda dull. From far it looks typical pale pink brown. At closer look it has violet body with green mouth and tentacles but hardly visible.

So I was wondering if I could bring back its colors? Will it be worth buying or I should just wait for another one which I dont know when might happen. I've never kept a ricordea before and I'm just starting back into this hobby again.

Btw if anyone is around Malaysia that sells cultivated corals, do let me know, as this shop i've known since I was small turns out to be selling wild corals. I would prefer to collect cultivated ones and also cultivate my own too to help protect the reefs.

Hey there!
I'm no expert but I love Yumas.
Yes the colors of Ricordia yuma change once you get they settled into their new home. Sometimes brighter, sometimes not, sometimes changing color. Thing about Yumas is they are finicky and sometimes die because they hate being moved. They are very us say about light. Research lots before you buy.
Good luck!

I see, thanks Whiterabbitrage! Will wait a week more before buying although it's been already 2 weeks since I saw it. Hopefully will still be there when I decide.

Ricordia can be easy or difficult. I have a full reef set up and have no problems with them. I place them in a low flow corner, usually where the food and poop will settle to the bottom. So low flow, lower light and slightly dirty water will work best for them. Higher light will cause them to lighten up, but be careful as it doesnt take much for them to bleach out.
Also, Ricordia will move, usually leaving babies behind. This is definitely more noticeable with Yuma's (at least in my experience).

Good luck!

Thanks for all the info! I just bought it, hopefully it works out well.
