How well do ricordia handle elevated nitrates?

They should be fine in lower nitrate concentrations. I probably wouldn't recommend more than ~20-25ppm over a long period of time for any coral though.

rics do great even in the worstt conditions don't worry about it.

Ric floridas are "dirty" water corals. They prefer tanks that aren't over-skimmed from what I've seen, but that doesn't mean they'll be as healthy with high nitrates. If I were you I'd try to limit your nitrates as much as possible just to be sure.

my trates have been averaging 40-50ppm(I try to lower them but fat fish are happy fish) and I have had rics for the past year without any problems.

Rics are hardy, my tank has 60ppm on nitrate and they are growing and splitting all the time.

Fl. rics are more dirty and well establed tanks. Yumas are more clean tank mushrooms
