Ricordia vs Starfish

Hello , new to sw and have my tank for about 2 months now. I started to collect frags and really like ricordias, but looking for a colorful BTA (small).

I came home and saw my new ricordia frag doing this. I quickly separated them and starfish seemed ok and walked away seemingly unscathed.

*btw can some help ID this ricordia?

My setup 24g nanocube with live sand and live rock.

Sorry i cant id the shroom but that pic is neat, the starfish has nothing to worry about though, if anything i would be more worried of a starfish eating the shroom, however your star shouldnt do that.

You could always post this in the shroom forum for a better id.

That isn't a Ricordea it looks more like a Rhodactis which are capable of eating fish when they get very large. Rhodactis are also called fuzzy mushrooms. Ricordea are made up of many bubble type tentacles. Google both and see what you find.

You will need to feed that starfish if you don't want it to starve. They will eat Nori if you get some and use a rubberband to hold it on a piece of live rock. Your tank is too new and too clean to support a starfish.
