where do they like it in the tank...bottom, top, more flow, less flow?

It depends on wich type of ricordia first off, yuma or florida. Secondly different colors of florida and yuma like different light intensity IME.

orange/yellow/gold R. floridas like more light than the green/blue/purple.

Floridas in general like more light than R. yuma. Yumas need to be light acclimated carefully.
