I am planning on setting up a 3 gallon glass JBJ pico at work. I want to have mainly Ricorida in this tank, but I only have three 9 watt PC bulbs. Do you think that this is enough light in the pico? If not what would you guys suggest. I was thinking about getting the viper 70 watt MH light, but that would probaly be over kill. I also don't think that anyone makes T5 HO smaller than 18"

Is that jbj 3 gallon the one with the curved front? If so, I have that one too. I love it, but I'm out of room in it :( I have 27w of lighting on it (13.5 actinic, 13.5 white) and have mushrooms, hammer, candy cane, zoas, gsp, and even a red monti cap (way up almost at the water line) that are doing really well. Some of my mushrooms have more than doubled in size in about a month's time.

Do Ricordia's do better with antec or white lights?

Virtually anything photosynthetic will prefer white light over actinic because there is a huge difference in photosynthetically active radiation (PAR). Basically the white light allows them to produce more energy through photosynthesis.
