Rics shrivling up at lights out?

Probably normal, but this behavior has only started within the past week. My ricordia really shrivles up to less then the size of a dime when lights go out. After about an hour of lights on it opens up to the size of a silver dollar or more though. It has always shrunk a little, but never lost that much size at night.

Anything to be concerned about?

is something else nearby growing and expanding at night? It may be bothering it. otherwise, i wouldn't worry too much.

Mine shrink every night down to a quarter/half dollar size. They blow back up during the day to the size of a soda canand bigger.

All my mushrooms shrink at night as well. Probably normal.

arkie, is that one mushroom that you have thats not opening up in high direct light or in strong flow? If it is thats probably why its not opening up.

All of my Ric floridas expell the water in the tentacles when the lights go out and shrivel up for an hour or so. It could be some kind of feeding response or something. I know when the lights go out my hairy shroom closes up and eats whatever landed on it during the day.
