Send a PM to Aquabacs he wrote a great article on them but I don't have the link handy. Also ask in the Fauna Marin forum claude can help you. I've had mine for a couple years they are hardier than people think AFTER you get them settled and back to health. They dont ship well and can be expected to lose legs in the beginning. If the continue to lose them something is wrong. The red ones are likely more difficult. Did you get it from DD? I've seen a lot of them on their recently that are sold as soon as they go up.
They are hardy and as long as you keep your nitrates low will do fine...although I will add the red ones are the hardest to keep. Be careful of your nitrates, mine have always died during a nitrate rise.

I keep them for very long time and also the big yellow crinoids i can hold now for longer and i can let them grow
the biggest issue is the transport, Till today the exporters make a lot of mistakes in packing this animals so many of them arrived in so bad condition that they cannot recover.
if you find a good crinoid it is not so difficult to kepp them alive
Here some pictures of a crinoid after transport and the recover and regrow of the animal
