You serious? The bulbs are double ended, aren't 400 bulbs bigger?

250W hqi and 400 hqi are the same size bulb al you would need to change is the ballasts of course

Beautiful tank, gorgeous setup, but not rimless. Isn't that eurobracing I see? I guess it is rimless, just not braceless. Ahh, what the heck, we can make you an honorary member :) .

no it is rimless, just not braceless or trimless, i guess.

a few people on this board will agree than anything without trim is "rimless" and that in reality "rimless" tanks are trimless or braceless

all our tanks have a rim.

FWIW, I think most feel that "rimless" implies rimless and braceless. Of course all tanks have a rim, but "rimless" also implies lack of an additional manufactured rim. Check out Invincible's original post in this thread, where he cites Rimless as "no brace." But why bother with all of these semantics, they're all beautiful tanks and it's great to have a thread to share them. Keep'em coming, all!

hey nick - i run 400HQI and these bulbs are a lot bigger than 250HQI's -- the brackets in my lumenarc are adjustable -- maybe that's what you meant.

uh oh, i didnt realize that my brackets are adjustable too but i always figured the bulbs were the same size.

i dont think it would work, i guess you would need new reflectors my bad.

You got me. :) That took me a second to figure out it was a picture under the tank. Pretty cool looking though and sweet looking tank. Who made it?

not a picture under the tank, its a movie projected onto the sand

the Tank was made by Envision Acrylics

sweet 16 for a great looking pooch!!! just got to love those sweet ole dogs.

its my daughters dog that we've "temorarily" inherited and i'm not sure how much pit is in her... she is a total wuss!!!!

thanks for the comment on both bailey and the tank. i'll post new tank pics soon. it's really kicked in since adding lumenmax 3 reflectors with phoenix 14 k bulbs and GEO kalk and Ca reactors along with a midwest aquatics de-nitra reactor. the corals are displaying polp extention like never before.... but then the tank is only 3 months old (much of it moved over from my 29) so i don't expect to really look it's best until winter.

mine is a wuss too, but she loves to start fights, they really look very similar, if you could see pumpkin before the grey hair and loss of muscle mass she looked much like your daughters, she looks like she has a lot of pit in her BTW.

macreefster, you got any space for water in that tank!

lol j/k i didnt know you can pack that many corals in one tank

big things coem in small packages

i was supposed to add water? now you tell me...lol.

yeah, i like a full tank even if it requires lots of pruning and weeding out corals as space diminishes. i know many would say you shouldnt stock a tank so quickly (its only 3 months old) but i've done it many times and everything is doing great and water parameters are perfect. thankfully i have a pry bar to allow me to wedge a few more choice corals..lol.

Wow three months! Did you transfer them from an older tank.
I'm impressed, that thing looks like it's been growing for years.

A few pics of my rimless starphire. 48"x24"x24", 120G, 3/4" starphire front and sides.

Tank built by Miracles Aquariums. It is not being set up where you see it now. Going up in my new House.
