stevedola - that's sweet! whats the gallons and dimensions?

Thanks everyone. It was made by a local Boston area reefer who goes by the screen name Randoma on brs.org his real name is C.S. (atleast thats what everyone calls him). I contacted him after hearing good things from fellow reef nuts like myself. Overall Im very pleased with the tank. The overflow is awesome and glass is exceptionally polished/beveled. The silicone is great in almost all areas except 1 but only 2 people will know where (myself and the builder). ITs a true cube tank as it is 24x24x24. Ill be transfering the contents (or what will fit) of my 75g tank into it soon as I finish the stand which you can see the progress here:

thanks again everyone for the kind words.

Freaking beautiful tanks everyone! So much so you all have convinved me to plass my order this week for a Glasscages 120 48x24x24 Rimless:p

My question is what would be a great lighting fixture to hang from the ceiling to be able to keep just about any coral, SPS, LPS, Clams, etc...

I am trying to just go all out with this setup. I want my corals to thrive, grow, have unreal color!!

I just dont want to fail at this or choose wrong and waste money ya know?

Any advice you can give is appreciated!

Yes the glass ed is using is low iron , ( Low iron has a light blue tint compared to the green of standard glass )

I mean look at his setup why would he use anything less? :D

( P.S. GSM you are a poet )

Love the tanks guys! I got a quick question. I am thinking of building my own tank, and I got a quote on the glass cut from glass cages wondered what you thought of this price. Tank dims. are 36'' x 30'' x 20'' starfire front glass. Price was $315 plus $45 delivered to Dallas (2 hour drive). What do you think?

An 8 or 10 bulb ATI PowerModul suspended above a 120G rimless tank can't be beat IMHO as far as looks and the ability to keep anything in a reef.

Good luck,
James

I love these rimless tanks. So much so that I took the poor mans way out and cut the trim off a very old 15 gallon I had laying around. Although I disagree with those that say the trim/rim doesn't support. At least on this old tank, it is very heavy duty. Without the bottom rim on, the only support for the bottom is a silicone bead. it sits roughly a half inch up in between the four sides. If I try to use the tank, i'll run a bead around the bottom. Also the corners are what I would worry about splitting apart. Although I will say,I gave them a very strong pull just to test them and couldn't split them ( at least more than I thought they would have while full of water )

Anyone have some good suggestions for a light arm source or an easy DIY project to build one? I'm finding it difficult to justify the cost of the Zeroedge light arm but its the only one I've found that's not completely DIY.

I'm set to pickup my 36"x24"x17" Shallow Rimless over the weekend and was looking to suspend an ATI PM/Sunpower 8 or 6 light over the tank via the arm.

Lamp Arm

Lamp Arm

Zeroedge will have a new set of reduced cost lamp arms coming out soon, I got some info today. [SLBR2 Basic]

They will be 9.75 inches from the Inside edge (Back of the Stand) to the front edge where you may hang your light from.

You can spot them if you look carefully at the tank in the center of their "Gallery" opening shot.

SuperR,

your tank looks really nice!! Could you give us some more details, link to a build thread, or something of the like?
I have not started the build yet...soon! But I am helping a friend with a build that is here. Its a 226 gallon rimless display.
