Is that silicone regular aquarium silicone? Normally brace-less tanks have a stronger silicone that really allows the tank to be built that way. Last I heard there isn't a clear silicone that will hold on a brace-less tank. Some people don't like the black silicone (I do like the black) but as of yet there is no cost effective clear silicone.

I am in the club: 36"x24"x24" Brace-less Trim-less Starphire glass tank.
Dow Corning 995 is the best silicone for building large aquariums. Problem is that there realy is no objective source of information on the (measured) strenght of different types and brands of silicone.
I wonder if there is an industry-standard by which the silicones could be tested.
