Hi everyone, i'm finally back.
here's what ive got on the go so far, big plains! any thoughts would be most welcome.

Thanks Neal, i built the stand from the ground up; pretty sure you could rest a car on top its quit solid.

those are awesome. ive always like rimless but scared of bowing or a seam to break without the black trim. anyone ever experience that?

I have never had a rimless, though I have seen quite a few... acrylic tanks bow quite a bit, but when an acrylic tank is made properly with the proper acrylic binder, it fuses the peices together as one making it much stronger than a glass built seam without braces... though heat from light can cause issues down the road if the light source for example puts out too much heat, too close to the acrylic, but this is not common at all... as is with every tank, regardless of look or structure, there is a mishap here or there a great once in a while... so your always taking a very small chance regardless of construction methods and whether its glass or acrylic... also I believe on rimless tanks, they are made with thicker side panels than a same size tank with braces to help with this bowing and strength i believe...

edit: now that I see the picture on your wall, I guess it's a leopard instead of a panther.

my new tank is built its 1400x750x550 tall (water level will be 500). all in 12 mm glass.

The tank builder is worried that the glass will bow in the middle due to no bracing, what are your thoughts...is it safe or should i add a euro brace

Ive seen guys build a brace along the inside bottom of the tank to help, I don't know how much that actually would help but its an idea.

here's a picture of my dad and i building the stand.

Glued together with PL400, deck screws then painted with mold resistant paint.

55x30x21.5"(tall) using 1/2" glass?

i've seen a couple of builders do 48x30x20" for 1/2" glass. i dont think any builder would do 55x30x21.5 using 12mm glass without any bracing.
