Rimless tank question

I have a 37"X22"X24" glass tank. The tank has two glass braces on both side no brace in the middle. While moving recently a friend of mine, who isnt the brightest person tried to lift the tank by the brace and broke it in half. I was wondering if I could take the other brace off and just make it rimless instead of having a new brace made. Does anyone know anything about rimless and if this will hold. The glass is 1/2" thick.

if the glass is 1/2" thick theres a good chance it will hold imo. i would fill it up in the driveway and see what happens. just my opinion though, i cant say for sure of course.

Yea I was going to fill it up for a week or so but just wanted someones elses opinion before I attempted.

I wouldnt try it, there is a reason the maker put that brace there? JMO.
