Alas, it is confirmed. Poopa, my powder brown tang that went missing a few days back, was devoured by my blue carpet. I came home and saw a pile of fish bones nears the carpet's cove. I know it was a risk, but like everyone else you think that you will be that one exception. Everyone had been living peacefully for the last 6 months until this event.
Poopa was by far the most active and inquisitive fish I had. He was a camera hog, so much that I could rarely get a closeup of any of my corals because he was always in the way. Well fed, well adjusted, and a model tankmate. If only he could have hung on another month for the big upgrade to the 120...
I blame myself. I recently went through a major re-aquascape. Now that I think about it, I totally cut off his main swim route with my torch corals, and he must have swam too close to the carpet while avoiding the torch.
Poopa, you will be missed.

Every night, make sure you take a moment to peer into your tank, and truly appreciate your little scaley friends.
